Week 65

Monday: well for pday this week we had a really awesome BBQ with some members from Brazil. We ended up getting there a little bit early so we played some football while we waited. Then we helped them cook a ton of meet and man it was good! After eating we all played some more soccer and then had to run up to the bus stop but ended up missing the bus. So while we were waiting almost an hour for next bus we decided to try some cactus fruit which was actually pretty good minus the fact the elder lords got a cactus needle stuck in his tongue. But we luckily managed to get that out. Then we headed off to a noche de hogar with Gi_ family where we talked about christs birth and also his atonement while making snowflakes and watching the Christmas video. Then had to hurry back to the bus so we could make it home on time.

Tuesday: well we had a lesson with He_ and we were able to talk with him about the word of wisdom and went really well until we got to the part of tea and coffee which is usually really hard for people to give up. Just reminded me that we each have some weaknesses in our lives and what we have been doing here in the Madrid Spain mission was we wrote some of those weaknesses on a piece of paper and are putting our trust in god to be able to give these things up as a gift to our savior Jesus Christ this year. I would invite you all to do the same as we go to god and humble ourselves before him he will make weak things become strong unto us.

Wednesday: well we were able to meet with De_ and Fa_  family to have a noche de hogar with them which was really awesome. We made snow flakes and then read the chapter in Isaiah where it talks about the atonement changing our sins from as red as blood making them as pure as snow. So we each wrote something that Jesus Christ has done for us personally and we are going to pu them on the wall. Then each time you look at your snowflake your suppose to say a little prayer of gratitude for the things Christ has done for you in your life. So it was a great lesson and a great day!

Thursday: today we had a lesson with Jo_ which at first wasn't going super great because he was just getting super distracted and getting off topic so then we drew out the plan of salvation for him because we thought that visuals Aids  might help him stay focus and hey it worked and then his grandma came and and listened to the end of the lesson again so that was great! She even accepted a Book of Mormon and a plan of salvation pamphlet so that was cool. We are really hoping she can be there for the whole lesson next time because she honestly has so much potential! And we are hoping to use her to help Jo_ begin to progress. So we'll see how that goes.

Friday: well we had a lesson with ge_  that went pretty well we watched a video about rock climbing and the importance of going with a guide and also the right materials. So we then related that to life how we need a prophet to guide us along the cliffs of life. Then after the lesson we took him to the ysa dinner and he had a great time getting to meet some people and eating dinner with us. There was even a white elephant gift exchange and then we talked about christs birth. So that was super awesome.

Saturday: well today in the morning we went and helped a family prepare there Christmas tamales so that was really fun instead of using corn husks they use banana leaves so that was interesting. Then we went to a Chinese buffet because suposably that what's they do in the movies when they don't have a Christmas dinner planned out so that's what we did. And it was quite good if I might ask! And there wAs a ton of fruit which was super nice we don't eat much fruit because it is kind of pricy but we need to start buying more fruit. Then to end the night we went caroling contacting where we would just go sing in the apartment buildings between the apartment doors in the apartment buildings and we were able to give out six Book of Mormons like that so it was a great night.

Sunday: well hope every one had a great Christmas back home here in the island we were lucky enough to have it cool down a little bit for Christmas so it actually kind of felt like winter so that was cool.

Then we had a great sacrament meeting where people gave there testimonies on Christmas and the young women gave a beautiful musical number. Then it was of to the guerras house to have a surprise Christmas gift of root beer floats and man we were so excited. Of course you all might not understand what it's like to be so excited for root beer but when you have lived somewhere where they don't have many things from the states it's just a great taste of home. Then we had lunch along with a white elephant gift exchange where I got a tie which was super nice. Just like the two ties I got from home. My families honestly the best. Then we did some caroling in the park and gave out 30 copies of the Book of Mormon in 30 minutes so that was cool. And then we had a great Christmas ham dinner with the missionaries and the Ro_. Hope every one has enjoyed Christmas and that they can makes some great goals for the new year!
