every one even though I still think basketball is better then soccer, but soccer is
kinda growing on me haha. Then after soccer it was back to the piso to
take a quick shower and change back into normal missionary clothes and
then off to the chapel to write and email. Then had a lesson with
A_ about the restoration. Then a lesson with a new family about
the Book of Mormon. They have a 16 year old daughter so David or any
one else who is interested I could hook u up haha just kidding they are a
great family and our lesson went super well.
Then back to the piso to clean and plan for the intercambio.
Tuesday: today was an intercambio with elder arroyo started off with
two failed lessons so then we decided that wasn't going to get us down
so we went out contacting and found six new references that want to
learn more so that was super cool and then a funny thing happened or
at least funny in my mind. We tried to stop this older man and give
him a card for Mormon.org card but right as we went to reach out our hand
to give him the card a lady probably in her mid fifties or so came out
of no where and shouted saying don't take the card they are of the
devil and then she looked at me and my comp and said they don't want
us here in Spain so then I asked why not and then she went on to say
we are of the devil and that we are going to bring people to the devil
so that was really interesting. Then we had a lesson with V_ about
what else we can do in our lives to better follow Christ. Then had a
lesson with D_ and F_ about prayer and fasting and that God
can help us over come all things. Then it was time to run back to the
piso so we didn't get home late.
Wednesday: today we had a lesson with D_ where we talked about
the anti nephi lehites and about that we need to burry our past
transgressions deep underground never to dig them up again. And then
he went on to talk about how he doesn't feel like he can change his
rep and that a lot of members in the church judge him for his past and
not for all the good he has done so it's a tough situation. Then we
had a lesson with M_ we just talked to her about putting our
trust in God and everything turns out all right.then it was on to
English class to help the other elders. And then we finally met with
J_ at English class he was the guy from the Dominican Republic that
we found three weeks ago so that was a little blessing this week.
Thursday: today we had district meeting where we talked about our
mission culture. So we basically just read about the attributes of
Christ. So that was really good and then we had a lesson fail so we
went to the other elders piso for lunch my comp seems to be taking the
failed lessons we have kind of hard some times and I don't know why
sure it's a little frustrating but we are here on the lords time not
our Time that is one thing we all must remember while we are in the
service of lord I have seen a miracle unfold by trusting on the lord
and letting his will unfold through me in his time. Then we contacted
some more and not much success so my comp was feeling pretty down
because we weren't having much success so he went and bought some
candy to make him feel a little better. He has told me a few times
that he won't contact old people so I just talk to all the old people
that pass any way he says old people are mean and rude. But the people
who drove the nails through christs hands and feet and whipped him and
put a crown of thorns on his head were much more so. And what did
Christ say forgive them father for they know not what they do.
Friday:; today started off with a lesson with A_ and J_
about prayer but threw in a little twist to catch J_'s attention.
You start with an Oreo on the top of your head and you have to eat it
or try to but you can't use your hands. Then you explain that prayer
is like being able to use your hands while eating the Oreo. Then after
the lesson we went contacting again and we managed to stop this
wonderful old man and just talked about God with him for a bit and
shared our beliefs with him and he shared his with us and then this
old lady walked by and said he shouldn't talk to us because we are
nothing and are of the devil. So then he stopped the lady and asked if
she would leave us and him alone and to have some respect as we talked
about God and Christ. I feel so bad for people who have been persuaded
to believe we are of the devil especially because it states in the
scriptures whosoever shall reject also reject me your savior. One
day they will have a change of heart! Then we had a lesson with D_
and F_ about faith in Christ which was super great. And then they
surprised us with a ton of food so that was awesome it was so much
that elder Kirby couldn't even finish his whole plate. Then we had
English class where we played a game where if u said the same article of
clothing that the person with the thimble of water was thinking of
then you got water dumped on your head or also if you repeated a word
everyone seems to love this game! Then it was time for the noche hogar
put on by the primary.
Saturday: only had one lesson today but it's a bit of a funny story so
earlier in the week we got a reference online of a guy named F_
A_ who wanted a Book of Mormon in Urdu. Then the other elders said
that they needed a Book of Mormon in Urdu for their investigator A_.
So we both set up an appointment at five at the chapel so their
investigator came on time so I waited about five minutes and then
called our investigator then A_ there investigator heard his phone
ring and answered the phone and said he will be right there so then
they came in and their investigator explained that he was the one for
both lessons so that was funny then he said that he wants to meet with
us to have a different perspective so we met with him and used the
member that they had planned for him. Then the other elders taught our
recent convert that we brought to help us with the lesson. So that was
interesting best prank ever haha.
Sunday: today was stake conference where they focused on families so
that was really good then they talked about going to the temple to do
the work for your ancestors that are on the other side of the
vail.then we had a lesson with P_ about what Christ can do for us.
Then we had a lesson with M_ about staying firm in the faith and
then he said he hopes that two attractive girls come up to us and kiss
us on the forehead he even prayed for it but don't worry that didn't
happen lol. Well that was my great and marvelous week in Spain love u
all so much.
