Week 58

Monday: well Monday we mainly just had a pretty chill day where I
first went and got my hair cut which was very nice having shorter hair
again. Then we played some games such as smashup and settlers of
catan. Afterwards we walked around town with ok some pics and went out
to Chinese food with Nicole and the other missionaries to celebrate
elder schwankees one year mark in the mission so that was super cool.
Then it was off to our lesson with Manuel and he is a great and
friendly guy just doesn't pay to much attention to what we have to say
a lot of the time so we will see what happens with him.

Tuesday: we had plans to head over to Campuzano del Rey to work out in
that pueblo for the day and then right as we were getting to the bus
station the bus had just left menos mal that we had not already
bough the bus ticket. So then instead we contacted for a couple
hours and then headed back to the church where Jesus came to pick us
up and take us to his house for a really great lunch of soup and rice
and chicken. Then it was off to the train station to go visit the
dwartes where they live in medina del campo so that was good until we
went to buy the train tickets and realized that the next train was at
9:30 and that's when we are supposed to be in piso so that was
interesting and to top it all off my comp forgot his train ticket and
iPad in the members house so well just say it was a tender mercy that
they did not come around checking tickets on the way back. So it was a
very crazy night.

Wednesday: well today we had our district meeting which went pretty
well we mainly talked about our image as missionaries and what we can
do to show people that we are not just super weird people that walk
around in shirts and ties. We must truly try to become there friend as
they talk to us so we can build a strong relationship with them and
gain their trust. Then later we mainly just had English class and went
by the game store because my comp wanted to talk abot the game magic
the gathering with the store owner. He is so obsessed with this game.
We then tried to use it as a contacting method I mean it kind of works
but there's not really a chance to bring up the gospel to much. Then
it was off to English which went really well we actually had a pretty
good turn out of four people which is really good for a Wednesday.then
we went to share a message with a member who has been feeling a little
down lately and by the end of the short message we were all smiling
together.

Thursday: well today started off with weekly planning like normal
which was good planning for all the investigators well the couple
investigators we have here so that will be good when we meet with them
this week. Then later we had a lesson with Maria which went really
well we talked about putting our faith and trust in God through out
our trials. We shared a video about this and she said that she felt
that video was made just for her. She is making a lot of progress.
Then later as we were contacting we got a call from a member asking us
to come help him move some stuff out of his piso. We were more then
happy to do so but as we arrived we found out it was going to be more
difficult then we assumed. It was the washer the fridge and the stove
and lots of clothes that we had to move down four flights of stairs
with out and elevator talk about a move to remember haha!

Friday: on Friday we spent the morning cleaning the chapel with some
members which was actually a lot of fun. Then later we had lunch with
Paola's family where we had some really good fish with rice and a
meatball soup. Then we shared the same message with her that we shared
with Maria and they loved it and are a little worried about a few
relatives that have strayed off track and then we told them that as
they prayed for those members of there family and put there trust in
god that god will provide the way. Just like the story of alma the
younger. Then it was off to meet up with an investigator of the other
missionaries because he wanted to take us all out for a hot chocolate
and churros. Then afterwards we went to English and I was talking with
some one about prunes and how many people eat them here in Spain
around Christmas time and they by the ones from California so I don't
know if those we'd be from the farm or where but it was still cool.
Then we had a good correlation where we planed for the noche de hogar
and talked about other missionary work based activities that we could
do to help the branch grow in faith and in numbers.

Saturday: well not much really happened besides basketball today other
then we were headed back to the piso for the night and I was in front
of my comp by a couple steps and next thing I realize he was gone and
no where around with the phone and the keys. So I tried asking people
for there phones so I could call him but no one would let me use their
phone. Then I passed by the chapel thinking that maybe the other
elders would be there or some one so I could use there phone but once
again no luck. So then I ran to Nicole's house to use the phone and
thankfully she was home! And she was actually on the phone with my
comp because my comp had just called her right as I rung the door
bell. And then we walked back to the chapel and then made our way
home. So it was a crazy night to say the least.

Sunday: well Sunday might have been literally the best day of my
entire mission I think. The day started off with a wonderful fast and
testimony meeting where one of the youth helped a young man that has
physical problems and is in a wheelchair. One of the young men helped
him so he could have the chance to pass the sacrament. Then our
investigator Maria had a rough weekend and she was in tears through
out the meeting so Nicole came over and put her arm around her and
helped her to know it was all going to be okay. Nicole is honestly one
of the best people I have ever met. Then later I was talking to a
young woman from Utah who is here on a foreign exchange program and
she asked if we could give her a Book of Mormon that she could give to
her host mom because she wants to know more about the church. So it
was perfect sense I had a Book of Mormon with my testimony written in
it and also with our number. Then later I was talking with Maria and
she asked when she could get baptized so then we talked some more and
she has decided that she would like to get baptized on the 19th of
November. So that was super awesome! Then later we had a great noche
de hogar with the jas. And then stayed the night with the other elders
to play some games.
Well that was our amazing week hope every one had a great week.
With lots of prayers and love.
Elder Strong
