church so my comp could write his girlfriend which I was okay with
because that gave me some more time to practice basketball which is
the best stress reliever in the world let me tell ya. Then we just
hung out in the church mainly because it was kind of a gloomy day so
we just stayed inside and played cards and wrote. Then later we went
to go contacting and we found a man from Mexico named David. So we
will hopefully be meeting with him again soon.
Tuesday: well today we had a lesson with M_ scheduled but it turned
out that she didn't come because she had some class she is taking for
something that she had to be at. Then it was of to go contacting for a
while but not much luck this time. Then it was off to do pass bys but
no one was home so then it was off to the church to do some more iPad
training they just came out with for a new app.
Wednesday: well today we first passed by Nicole's house where we got
the chance to meet some more of her family which is really cool she is
probably one of our favorite members in the whole ward. We mainly just
brainstormed ideas for activities and came up with a fall festival and
then volleyball. So we'll see if we can get some activities going so
members can start inviting there friends. Then we also had English
class where we also learned how to play moose it's basically a Spanish
game. Then it was off to the train station and on the way over
there we ran into these two girls from California and it turns out
that one of there dads actually graduated from chico state so that was
cool. Then we had a three hour train ride to olviedo where we would
spend the night and then have zone conference the next day.
Thursday: well today was a full day of zone training and Lao travel
which was really fun. First in the training we had the focus on how to
prepare some one for baptism which was a big help for us as we
continue to try to help our investigator Maria on the path towards
baptism. Then later we focused on working on all the parts of our
areas not just one spot. It's just like fishing you may know where one
hot spot is where the fish seem to always bite but you never know if
there is an even hotter spot until you go and test the waters. And he
said come and I will make you fishers of men. Then we did an exercise
where we had a goal to give out as many Book of Mormons as we could to
people in 15 minutes. And you'll never guess how many we gave out as a
zone! 12 that's right 12 in the north of Spain and who's said miracles
have ceased. If you are on the edge of deciding whether you believe in
miracles or not I have one small tip that might help you out just open
up your eyes. There are miracles that happen all around us in our
everyday lives. As you open your eyes and your heart and your soul to
god you will see more miracles then you thought could have ever been
done in your life time. Then later we hiked up a mountain and made a
title liberty with the vision for the zone for the next transfer. And
we all signed it. I'll send those pics later. Then to end the day it
was a long five hour train ride to Valladolid.
Friday: well we were suppose to have a lesson with Manuel today but he
didn't show up so that was to bad but we still got some other things
done today. The morning was mainly filled with contacting where we had
a couple really good conversations with some people. Then we had lunch
with a member family which was super good. And it's always great when
you don't have to cook. Then we headed over to the church to help set
up the family history activity and also for the noche hogar. Then we
had over ten people at English class so that was awesome! Then for the
noche hogar we put magnets on paper fish that had questions that you
had to look the answers up to in the scriptures so that was super fun
and a great expierences for everyone.
Saturday: today we had a couple different activities, first was the
family history activity where we were able to help every one get
started on there genealogy or help them continue with the work for
their ancestors. Then we had basketball which was great because all
the kids that live in pueblos were there so we got to have some fun
playing ball with them. Then later was the mission prep class which
went really well and the two of the people in the class asked if they
could go contacting with us later so we agreed. So we took them
contacting and at first they were both super shy but then got the hang
of trying to talk to random people. Then to go celebrate their hard
work we went out for an ice cream and then it was time to head in for
the night.
Sunday: well today at church there were two wonderful talks given one
of them was on the Book of Mormon and talking about just how great of
a blessing it is in each one of our lives if you have read it I would
invite you to read it again if you have not read it I suggest it to
you for those of you who may not be of our faith I invite you to read
the Book of Mormon and as you do so I promise you that your life will
be will be changed and you may come to know of the truth of divine
light. We also had a grand family home evening thing with the Jas
where we talked about the importance of prayer and scripture which
went really well and then we played werewolf or lobos in Spanish. Then
back to the streets until it was time to go in for the night. I hope
all of you have had an amazing week and hope to hear from each one of
you through out the week sometime. We'll have a good week every one
