Week 14

Monday: so today was pday we went over by pavones I actually some how
managed to score to goals and one of them was against an all native team
who's youngest player was 17 so that was fun and then we headed over
to the chapel where I got to write all y'all  which is always one of
the best parts of my pday. Then we headed over and had pizza at
domingos with a couple other elders and that was great. Then it was
back to the piso to change into missionary clothes. Then we headed out
the door to go to a lesson with A_and J_ where we talked about
the importance of prayer reading the scriptures and attending church
which went really well and then it was back to the piso to plan for
tomorrow's intercombios with elder Arroyo can't wait.

Tuesday: so today is intercombios with Elder Arroyo so we will see how
it goes since he doesn't know any English and I'm still working on my
Spanish should be good. Started the day off with a lesson on service
Which Domingo which was amazing, during that lesson was one of the times
I've felt the spirit the strongest on my mission so far it was great
and then yesterday we also got the oppurtunity to give a blessing to
A_  mom who wasn't feeling to well in the mornings we think it
might just be morning sickness from being pregnant. Then a member took
us out to dominos so that was great. Next we had a lesson with D_
but then we got there and she wasn't there and she didn't have her
phone on either. But luckily the member J_ had a friend in the area
so we stopped by and talked to them that was cool. Then after that, it
was on are way to our next lesson with D_ and his mom. We read the
talk,  I stand all amazed which went really well. After this we
contacted some more and ran in to this Catholic lady so she stopped
and then we started introducing ourselves when she saw the name tags
and just went off on us in English I thought it was really funny. She
was like I know exactly why you guys are here your trying to turn me
in to one of you but all my friends from my church have told me to stay
clear of u or I might be cursed or something like that so it was super
funny.

Wednesday: well today is district meeting and we get to switch back
with our normal companions which will be nice but elder arroyo was a
boss all day yesterday. Then this morning during person study this
great idea came in to my mind for a poem. I entitled it wings to fly.
Wings to Fly
No matter how hard u try
You may just want to stop and pout and cry
But first stop
Ask yourself one question
And that one questions why
Do we not recall
God hears our every cry?
And he gave us wings to fly?
So get up brush of the dust,
And soon enough you'll find.
He gave you wings to fly.
So fly and when you fall,
Learn to fly again
Then soon enough you'll find
Gods love and light divine.
So in district meeting today we talked about the importance of the
Book of Mormon so that was really great and then went back to the piso
to eat some spaghetti that one of the ward members gave us because she
had to go to work super quick so that was really nice of her then we
went to English class with A_and J_ which was great always
love speaking a little English. Then there was an elder that just got
back from his mission in England today so that was really cool. Then
we had a lesson with P_ and D_ we talked about alto me leva
it's a Mormon message about overcoming trials so that's pretty
awesome.then it was back to dominos for lunch along with elder cuevas
and chabot. Then we did some contacting not to to much luck this time.
Then it was on to help with English class but right when we got there
an investigator called us in tears telling us he was drinking and
asked if we could come over and help him so we did just that we mainly
just listen as he talked and shared our testimonies that God can help
us overcome all things. Now we are working with him to overcome his
addiction.

Thursday: so today started off great we had interviews with president
and that is great. In the interview we talked about the importance of
calling people unto repentance as we teach them and then the other
elders invited us to Burger King so we went. Then we spent the rest of
the day contacting and making phone calls and when we called D_ we
found out that her grandma is here!!!! Finally we have been waiting
for that for like the past two months. Then we went over to set up an
activity for the ward that started at nine and then stayed till 9:10
but no one showed up yet. Then we headed over to elder cuevas and
chabot so piso even though I would of much rather slept in my own bed.
So they all stayed up super late but I went to bed while they watched
17 miracles. But it was really hard to sleep with all the fire works
and fire crackers.

Friday: so today was just a day full of contacting and rejection for
the most part. But that's totally okay because as long as your happy
smile and invite your doing your part. An as the say it takes seven
good experiences with the church before most people are willing to
listen to the message so just think u could have started those seven
good experiences. Then a guy actually stopped to listen to us when he
stopped we were so entirely over joyed and then he said he loves
learning and would love to learn  about our religion so we were so
happy but right now he says he works every day and doesn't get done
with work till 8:30 then eats and goes to bed but some day he will
have time to accept for himself the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
So it was a nice end to a hard day.

Saturday: Today started off with getting a reference from the
missionaries in the other ward who contacted a guy from our area so
that was cool. Although we tried calling the guy three times no answer and then we just decided we will go ring his door but no awnser
there either. Then we had to hurry and get all the way over to the
absolute other end of our area where A_ took us out to a Bolivian
restaurant for lunch I had cinua soup it was like a chicken soup
pretty much then had chicken and rice with salad. Then we met with
D_ to head over to help D_ with-his alcohol problem but D_
was having to leave right when we got there to run the kids somewhere
so we didn't get to talk to him. Then it was over to the chapel for
correlation but the ward mission leader didn't show up for a while so we
played soccer with some of the little kids from church which was great
then we had correlation then it was on to the home coming activity
where the return missionary spoke and then his parents spoke about how
great of a blessing it was to have their son serving the lord for two
years and how they were so blessed from that service. Hope all my fam
can see the blessings that come from having a missionary out in the
mission field and hope u all can do some missionary work of your own
while I'm gone. Then after the activity we played a little more soccer
it was me and elder Kirby and two of the primary kids vs elder cuevas
three of the youth and one of the primary kids our team won of course
and B_and M_  scored all the goals it was great.

Sunday: today at church was fast Sunday so we got to hear everyones
testimonies which was awesome. One of the sisters in our district bore
her testimony because this is her last fast Sunday in the mission
that's so crazy I can't even imagine what it would feel like to be
going home so soon if it was up to me I'd choose to be out here for at
least one more year I just absolute love missionary work with all my
heart. Looking back on it I wish i would have talked more about the
gospel to my friends back home now that I know how enjoyable it is to
do just that every single day. Then it was on to gospel principals
where we talked about Jesus Christ atonement witch i am so great full
for to have the oppurtunitythen it was on to priesthood where we
talked about asking yourself the question who am I so I would like to
challenge all of you to ponder that question this week and send me an
email at the end of the week with your awnser. Then we went home
teaching with a man in the ward and then had a lesson with C_
on member missionary work. Then it was back to the piso to plan for
tomorrow and then bed time.

Monday today we all went bowling together as a district that was a lot
of fun and every one had a great time although it took like forty
minutes to get there it was great because we all had a magnificent
time. Then we got to email which is always nice. Then it was time to
do a little bit of cleaning the kitchen and grocery shopping so that
was good and it feels great to finally have the kitchen clean
again.then later we have a lesson with A_and his brother J_
which so go great we're going to teach them about the importance of
getting baptized and following the example of Jesus Christ so all that
should be great  and I might just have to convince elder Kirby to stop
and get a churro. Because these aren't just any normal old churro so
you can find in the street of America these are chocolate covered
pudding reeled churros.my scripture of the week is alma 56:48 which
says they rehearsed unto me in the words of there mothers saying we do
not doubt our mothers knew it. I am so great full for the awesome
mother I have and for the example of a righteous woman she has set for
me in my life and all the many principals she has taught and who could
forget what she would say before basketball that I now use as my
missionary motto play to be remembered. So I would just like to invite
all of you in all aspects of life but especially in the gospel to get
off
the bench and play to be remembered love u all so much.
Love Elder, Strong
