Week 33 Elder Bednar came to visit our mission!

Monday: well today started off by heading over to get our hair cut
which was absolutely wonderful! Then after that it was off to by
groceries and then back to the piso to cook some lunch and change back
into some normal clothes for a bit to just relax and clean a bit. Then
later it was off to just go walk around the river for a bit so that
was great until it started to down pour so then we ran over to the
chapel to get out of the rain and email for the rest of pday then the
rest of the day was filled with pass bys to fijar citas (find references) so that was
good!

Tuesday: well today we had district meeting where we focused on asking
questions and having the spirit. I started. Y giving a short talk on
the importance of having the spirit with us in our lessons where we
talked about we can only bring our message of the gospel unto the
heart of our investigator but it is up to the Holy Ghost to take that
message into their hearts. Then the hermanas gave a talk on asking
questions wich was great they talked about asking questions that will
make your investigator dig deep to respond and find an answer we must
make sure we are not just asking yes or no questions after all any one
can say yes or no. Then we were suppose to have a lesson with Roman
tonight but he got called in for work so that was to bad! Then we went
and contacted the rest of the night.

Wednesday: well today we had a lesson with Jaino about the priesthood
authority and baptism. In the lesson we mentioned that the church has
the priesthood to baptize with the authority of God then he went on to
tell us that he was already baptized in the Catholic Church by the
priest so we asked him where that priest got his authority and he said
well he went and studied at some school. Then we tried telling him in
a loving way that a school can't hand out the authority of God. But
then he just kept going on and on about so then we left with our
testimonies and closed with a prayer. Then we called Antonio to see if
we could meet this week and he said yes but on one condition if we
play a little basketball before we talk because he wanted to invite
some friends who wanted to play basketball with an American! Man
finally I can play a little ball I've been waiting 7 months to find
someone that we can play some real good basketball with and all
the references we can get now to! So that was probably the best part
of my day!!!

Thursday: today we had lunch with the branch president where we had a
little bit of soup and chorizo then we talked about the branch a
little then we shared a message about the importance of having love
one for another which our small branch can struggle with at times. Then
we went back to the piso for some language study and eat a little bit
more. Then for the rest of the day we were just walking around
contacting all day and all night managed to get one reference although
she's only here for the next three months studying then she's going
back home to France so well hopefully find some time that we can meet
with her!

Friday: well today we had a basketball game with an investigator and
he was supposedly going to invite a bunch of his friends because they
all wanted to play ball with an American so that was kinda of funny
but then it started to rain so they canceled which was to bad I've
been waiting to play some bball for the past 7 months now. Then it was
on to contacting and pass bys for the rest of the day.

Saturday: well we are off to Madrid for the visit from elder Bednar.
However before we got there we went to the park to contact with all
the other missionaries. So that was cool then it was off to lunch where
we had some pizza then over to the stake center to wait for when we
could enter into the chapel which was good got to talk to old comps
and the peeps from the district in barrio 3. Then it was into the
chapel where we were all expecting him to give some grand big talk but
he just asked questions and then built on the answers we were given it
was super cool and super spiritual! Then it was time to go but my
wallet seemed to be missing and we couldn't get back to Cuenca with
out my id. So we looked all over the place with no luck! So we had to
spend the night sleeping on the ground of some other missionaries
apartment.

Sunday: well today I woke up feeling absolutely miserable! We did
manage to buy a ticket where I didn't  have to use my id for the bus so
we were on our way back to Cuenca and just standing and walking around
waiting for the bus I felt like I would pass out at any minute and
then I started to get the chills muscle aches a huge headache a
feeling that I had to puke and just feeling absolutely awful so as you
can probably guess it was a day in the piso of rest and reading the
scriptures in the apartment. The good news though is that they managed
to find my wallet in another elders bag that must have mistakenly
grabbed so can't Blame him or get mad.
Well that was my week here in Cuenca hope to here from you all soon.
Love Elder Strong
